The India Network Foundation is a non-profit organization founded with the mission to serve the Asian Indian community around the World and to support Researchers & Scholars interested in studying India. Started as the first internet resource for India related news and events in 1988, the India Network Foundation has established itself as the first and foremost resource on India and India related issues. The concept of virtual communities was first introduced by India network to internet community in late eighties.India Network started sponsoring accident and sickness health programs to help students initially, extending to H1 workers and their families and then to parents and grandparents.
At its inception, India Network Foundation received support from Sun Micro systems, Microsoft and Cisco among others. Their generous donationsof a Sun Workstation in 1988 provided the ground work and infrastructure needed to build this community organization. India Network first began as a way to distribute news from India to the Indian diaspora around the world when disseminating information was still in its infancy. Since then, India Network started sponsoring the health insurance programs for visitors to the United States in an effort to support the community further.
Celebrating 30 years, India Network Foundation wants to thank its members for their support throughout the years by providing ONE month free visitor health insurance for CHUBB plans to all visitors from India to the United States irrespective of their age (0-99 years)*. Member supported projects include Gujarat Earthquake Relief, Orissa Cyclone Relief, distributing maps to various elementary schools throughout India, and an on-going effort to build mineral water stations to provide clean water for villagers in India.
CHUBB Insurance company underwrites India Network Health Insurance fixed coverage plans and network plans. These plans offer excellent coverage for pre-existing conditions, new problems and accidents. The CHUBB Premier and Network Plans offer pre-existing conditions coverage on par with new problems and accidents. A major deviation in definition of pre-existing conditions coverage make these plans life savers for many visitors over the years. The Network Program pays 80 percent of covered medical expenses for covered pre-existing conditions and non-pre-existing conditions. A unique feature of the CHUBB program is to provide unconditional medical insurance coverage for a visitor who can be assured of their coverage, for example, a visit to emergency room, irrespective of the reason.
“It’s our 30th Anniversary and we’d like to Thank You for your support. I’m very proud of the work and impact on the community we were able to make over the past thirty years. We couldn’t have done it without you! Please help us to celebrate and enjoy this token of appreciation to our members - a free month coverage for all CHUBB plans.” - said Dr. KV Rao, Founder President of India Network Foundation, USA.
